The Brownville Series

Picture
Write on Main Street

When reporter Sandy Case snaps a photo of Sebastian O'Nary sitting ass deep in a pile of Schwedy Balls ice cream, she has no idea how much his death will upend her life.

It’s not because he’s dead: Sandy is already banking on resurrecting her own tattered career through his death. Nor is it because she snuck into an active crime scene to get the photo and story; after all, when you are desperate, any method is fair game.

No, what she doesn’t foresee is how being involved in this case will not only put her squarely in the crosshairs of the people who killed him, it also ends up revealing to her crazy ex-husband just where she is hiding from him.

And right now, it’s a tossup as to which one is worse; the gang who killed Sebastian, or her ex-husband.

But will either one of them turn out to be a match for her?

The first in the Brownville Series.

The Accidental Animal Cop

"It's not like you have a degree in dog catching."

Rachel Tillison certainly didn't plan to have a career as an animal cop. But she also didn't plan on having her life upended just as she graduated from college either. Back home at what she thinks is just a temporary job, she finds herself thrown in the deep end as the Animal Control Officer. This job should be a piece of cake but it is anything but. Rachel is in for a wild ride as she is faced with challenges from runaway emus, Buster the Goat and a mysterious creature that stalks the town. When a series of dog nappings happen, Rachel finds out that simple small town life is anything but simple.

The second in the Brownville Series, Accidental Animal Cop gives the reader a wry, fast paced look at life in a small town.

The Lady's Home

It's all fun and games until someone dies in your bed.
Doris, Rita, Lily and Betty share the ‘Lady’s Home’, a graceful old mansion that they are using as a de facto rest home, a place where they can age in comfort and peace.
And for years, that’s exactly what they were doing, until Betty began to develop issues that is.
After she has a series of one-night stands that upsets the household, Betty brings home a man who experiences the ultimate happy ending, actually dying while in the act.
Having someone go toes up while you’re in bed with them is traumatic enough. However, that trauma is compounded when they realize he wasn’t just one more guy looking for fun: he’s Ricky Haverill, a major political candidate.
And now he’s dead in Betty’s bed.
The fallout from this could be catastrophic.
A spur of the moment decision to not call the police leads to a wild road trip from Vermont to Washington D.C.  in the vain hope they can somehow just drop him off at the next campaign stop and stay out of it.
But when you have a dead politician and a dildo named Frankie riding shotgun, the trip ends up being anything but sedate.
With people searching for Ricky and the clock ticking, the mission seems doomed.
But never underestimate the power of age and treachery over youth and enthusiasm.
